Finns Glow in the Dark More Often Than Swedes

Only one in four pedestrians walking in well-lit urban areas wears a reflector. Finns do, however, wear reflectors more often than Swedes—but not as often as Norwegians.

According to a study by Finland's traffic safety authority Liikenneturva, only 42 percent of pedestrians use reflectors. Women seem to care more about their safety as they’re likelier to pin a reflector to their coats than men.

Finns’ reflector use falls in the midrange among the Nordics. Nevertheless, 40 percent of some 2,000 Finns surveyed by the Nordic Road Safety Council (NRSC) admitted to never wearing a reflector.

Reflector use is the lowest in Demark.
