Truck Drivers Forced to Fork Out Fees at Russian Border

Additional payments are again being levied from truck drivers on the Russian border, according to the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.

Payments have been demanded at the Svetogorsk crossing point.

The daily Helsingin Sanomat reports Finnish drivers have had to sign a document stating they haven't paid any additional charges to Russian customs officials. Drivers say their signatures have been requested since last week.

Meanwhile there has been little let up in the lengthy queues of lorries on the Finnish side of the border. YLE24
