Finns Least Keen on Culture

Finns are the among the least keen on culture of all EU citizens. According to a Euro barometer survey, only 65% of Finns consider cultural matters to be of importance to themselves. The EU average is 77%

Culture is closest to the hearts of the Poles, of whom 92% consider it important. They are closely followed by Cypriots(91%) and the French(88%).

Only Austrians had less interest in culture than the Finns with a rating of only 53%

Where three-quarters of EU citizens consider culture to be of significance, accordingly an equal number consider the diversity of European culture to be a notable factor for the entire region. Diversity is believed to increase the importance of European culture.

Some 27,000 people from 27 EU nations took part in the Eurobarometer survey carried out in February and March.
