Listening comprehension of Finland's second domestic language is the first exam of the day. The final exam to be administered will be Saami as a first language at the end of the month.

Close to 36,500 students have registered to take the exams, about 350 less than last year.

The series of school-leaving matriculation exams are administered in the autumn and spring. Students can choose to complete the battery of examinations over up to three testing periods.

This autumn, 5100 of those taking exams will be able to finish the entire series.
