Rescue workers in Turku’s Raunistula district discovered one body in a building that burned down on Monday night and Tuesday morning. A second body was found later Tuesday evening, according to local police.

One of the building’s residents had been reported missing Tuesday morning. Officials said it is possible guests were present in the building at the time of the fire.

At least eight people were treated in hospital after escaping the blaze.

The wooden building was completely destroyed in the fire. Firefighters put the blaze out Tuesday morning, and accident investigators are continuing their work.
