Alma Media subsidiary to shed up to 85 jobs

Alma Media’s regional newspaper company Alma Aluemedia has launched personnel reorganisation talks in a bid to reduce its workforce by up to 85.

The regional and local newspaper publisher Alma Aluemedia has begun retrenchment talks that will involve some 500 employees working for regional and daily newspapers.

The company said that internal restructuring will result in the loss of up to 85 jobs. The negotiations will involve all staff involved in publishing operations with the exception of individuals working for papers in Lapland. The printing and distribution company Alma Manu will also be excluded from the planned reorganisation.

Alma Aluemedia publishes the dailies Aamulehti, Satakunnan Kansa, the combined Lapin Kansa, Pohjolan Sanoma papers as well as other local and city papers throughout the country.
