One Finnish citizen is among the 48 people injured in Monday's terrorist attack in Berlin, according to Saija Nurminen, Counsellor at the Finnish Embassy in Berlin.
Embassy officials have been in contact with the individual, but have declined to release any more information.
Eleven people were killed by a truck that drove into a crowded Christmas fair at Breitscheid Square on Monday evening. The Polish driver of the hijacked lorry was found shot dead inside the vehicle. The perpetrator remains at large.
The confirmed dead include six Germans, one Israeli and one Italian. Some of the injured remain in critical condition.
German prosecutors have issued a Europe-wide wanted notice for the prime suspect, a 24-year-old rejected Tunisian asylum seeker named Anis Amri.
The newspaper Helsingin Sanomat was first to report news of the Finnish casualty on Thursday.
