Finnish MPs getting a pay rise

The last time lawmakers got a salary hike was in the spring of 2019, according to Finnish Parliament.

Finnish MPs are set to receive a salary boost, following a decision by parliament's remuneration committee on Tuesday.

In practice, it means that if a lawmaker has worked up to four years as an MP, their salary will rise from the current 6,614 euros per month to 7,137 euros per month.

MPs who have worked in parliament for at least 12 years will see their pay rise from the current 7,408 euros to 7,993 euros per month.

Going forward, the Speaker of Parliament will receive 14,448 euros per month and the vice speaker will earn a monthly pay of 11,266 euros.

The last time MPs received a raise in pay was in the spring of 2019, according to a parliament press release.
