The last week of September will bring unseasonably warm conditions to some parts of Finland, with temperatures expected to climb as high as 20 degrees Celsius.
The sunshine will not be evenly distributed however, according to Yle meteorologist Anne Borgström, with southern and western regions likely to enjoy the best of the autumnal sun.
"A high pressure front approaching from the south will push the low pressure northwards. Rain showers will arrive on the west coast on Monday evening and move on to Lapland on Tuesday," Borgström said.
While the regions of Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu may see up to 10-15 millimetres of rain on Monday, other parts of the country will be warm and dry.
Temperatures across Finland will start to rise on Tuesday and Wednesday, Borgström said, with Thursday expected to be the warmest day of the week.
