Helsingin Sanomat reported on Sunday that a Finnish-Israeli dual citizen was injured in the attack by Palestinian militants that started on Friday night.
Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen (NCP) and the acting head of mission at the Finnish embassy in Tel Aviv Juhana Tuunanen confirmed the information to HS.
Earlier Valtonen had once again voiced her support for and solidarity with Israel after the Hamas incursion started on Friday night.
Valtonen said on the X social media service, which used to be known as Twitter, that she has spoken with Israel's Foreign minister Eli Cohen about the situation.
"I gave my deepest condolences for the lives lost and the terrorism directed at civilians," said Valtonen. "The situation is the most serious in 50 years. Our solidarity is with Israel and the Israeli people."
On Friday Palestinian militants broke through the barrier fence around the Gaza strip, which has been blockaded since 2006. They killed soldiers and civilians in Israeli towns and military bases, and took hostages back to Gaza.
Israel responded with air strikes on Gaza and operations to clear militants from footholds outside Gaza.
Hundreds of Israelis were killed in the attack, with hundreds of Palestinians killed in the response by Israel.
On Saturday evening Finland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs announced that it had updated its travel advisory for Israel, advising against unnecessary travel to Israel and the Palestinian territories.
The ministry is advising against all travel to Gaza, and urging Finns to exercise caution when visiting Lebanon.
