Miki Kuusi, who founded the Wolt delivery service and sold it to the American firm DoorDash last year, was Finland's highest income earner in 2022.

He made some 79 million euros in total, ensuring he topped the list of taxpayers published on Wednesday morning.

In second spot was Pekka Kopra, who sold the Versowood Group company last year to his brother. His income was nearly 54 million euros.

Ilkka Paananen of mobile gaming firm Supercell was third, making almost 29 million euros. He topped the previous year's list.

The top-20 income list includes no women, with the highest-ranked woman coming in at number 23. Anja Lyyrtö made around 15.5 million euros in 2022.

In the world of sports, the data also reveals that Finland's men's football national team coach Markku Kanerva's income trailed behind his Swedish and Norwegian counterparts.

Men's ice hockey coach Jukka Jalonen did better, making some 386,000 euros in the year he led Finland to Olympic gold.

Yle's tax search engine is available here (in Finnish). It includes the names of around 1,000 people who had the highest incomes in Finland, plus the 30 highest earners in each province.

The Tax Administration sends the media a list containing details of everyone who made more than 100,000 euros.

The Supreme Court has ruled that income earners cannot prevent their names being added to the list, as they did in 2022.
