Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will visit Finland on June 5-6, says the Office of the President.
The visit will be hosted by Finnish President Alexander Stubb. Stubb and Stolenberg will discuss security and defense policy issues, the situation in Ukraine and the Nato summit to be held in Washington, United States, in July.
During his visit, Stoltenberg will also meet Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (NCP), Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen (NCP), Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen (NCP) and the Commander of the Defence Forces, General Janne Jaakkola.
President Stubb last met Secretary General Stoltenberg in Brussels during Stubb's visit to Belgium in April.
Finland joined Nato in April 2023 and is currently under the Brunssum headquarters in the Netherlands. However chair of Nato's military committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, said that Finland is likely set to join the Nato group under Joint Force Command Norfolk, based in the US.
