Users of Finnish telecoms firm DNA were faced with widespread disruptions to the company's phone service and internet connections on Monday.
Customers nationwide were unable to make or receive calls on the DNA network and found that their phone's internet connection was also offline.
"We are currently experiencing disruption to our connections, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to customers," DNA explained on its website.
The first problems were reported just after noon on Monday.
In a separate announcement just after 2pm, the company said services were beginning to return to normal.
Earlier in the day, DNA had announced that it was working on changes aimed at improving its services.
In an emailed reply to Yle, the company said the source of the outage was being investigated.
