Coldplay gave a rare interview ahead of their series of concerts in the Finnish capital Helsinki, with guitarist Jon Buckland and singer Chris Martin answering Yle's questions.

"We're happy to be in Finland for the first time," said Martin.

The band have given few interviews during the current tour, but made an exception in Finland as they had not played in the Nordic country before.

"We felt that before we played in Finland, we needed a good 26, 27 years of practice," joked Martin. "Now we're ready."

In the interview the pair said they had enjoyed a Finnish sauna and swam in the sea, and tried to pronounce the names of Finnish footballers. Buckland correctly pronounced Jari Litmanen and Sami Hyypiä, but was tripped up a little by former Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki.

The band play Helsinki's Olympic Stadium on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with a total of 170,000 tickets sold for the shows.
