Prices for old stock apartments in Finland continued to decline in August compared to last year, according to Statistics Finland.
Overall, apartment prices in the country dropped by 1.5 percent in August, compared to the same month in 2023.
However, Tampere and Espoo did not follow the downward trend, with the cities seeing apartment prices rise by 3.1 and 1.4 percent respectively in August, year-on-year.
During that same period, apartment prices in Helsinki and Vantaa dropped by 5.6 and 5 percent, respectively.
Compared to July, apartment prices in August rose by 1.3 percent nationally and by 0.5 percent in the capital region, according to the agency.
More specifically, prices for flats in apartment buildings in August decreased by 2.9 percent, while row house apartment prices rose by two percent.
There were other signs of improvement in the housing market in August, including a 15 percent year-on-year increase in apartment and row house purchases via estate agents, compared to the same month last year.
