The most common reference rate for Finnish home loans, the 12-month Euribor, fell below the 2.5 percent mark on Wednesday for the first time since October 2022.

According to OP Group's senior market economist, Jari Hännikäinen, the 12-month Euribor currently stands at 2.495 percent.

The three-month Euribor is meanwhile listed at 3.023 percent, its lowest level since March of last year.

The Euribor, short for the Euro Interbank Offered Rate, is based on the average interest rate at which European banks borrow from one another. This rate is commonly used as the reference rate for Finnish mortgages, making it a key influence on household finances in the country.
