On Monday, Statistics Finland reported nearly 8,000 fewer job openings between July and September, compared to the same period of last year.
The job market saw 7,800 fewer vacancies in the third quarter than in the same period of 2023, the statistics bureau said. In the third quarter of this year, there were 34,600 open positions, down from 42,400 in 2023.
The agency said third-quarter vacancies have not been this low since 2017.
The largest number of job vacancies were for practical nurses, caregivers, salespeople and cleaners, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
Earlier this month, Finnish Immigration Service Migri reported that there was a notable decline in the number of work-based residence permit applications submitted during the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year.
