When builders in Turku noticed a fox trapped in a metal pipe with only its head visible, they set to work releasing the forlorn-looking creature.
Wednesday's rescue operation took about 15 minutes.

"The fox was in the pipe, which was so slippery that the animal was no longer able to back its way out," explains Tom Tapani Outinen of the construction firm Turun Elementtiasennus.
A video by his colleague Sami Keinonen shows workers lifting up the sealed end of the pipe, letting the fox slide out the other end.
"My work buddies helped the fox to get out of the pipe, which had water in the bottom. The fox's fate would certainly have been sealed without Lasse Lappalainen, who took pictures and freed the fox," Outinen tells Yle.
Eyewitnesses said it appeared that the fox had been in the pipe for quite a while.
It emerged, rather bedraggled and confused-looking, staring at the pipe as if trying to figure out what had just happened. One builder encouraged it to leave the construction site.

Construction workers are building a replacement for the old Juslenia Hall on Yliopistonmäki (University Hill) near the centre of the former capital city.
Upon completion in the spring of 2021, it will be shared by the University of Turku and its Swedish-language counterpart, Åbo Akademi.
The original Juslenia Hall from the 1970s was demolished last year following long-running complaints about cramped facilities and poor air quality.
