It’s story-centric—like everything I do—but the story itself is a kind of puzzle. Like the plot is a mystery that you have to solve as much as the puzzle elements/mechanics. (They tie in heavily with one another.) Here’s a synopsis adopted from the one I’m using for the physical escape room:
You wake up to blaring alarms and flashing lights. Memories elude you, the last year of your life is a chaotic blur—all you know is that you’re a scientist conducting research and experiments on a distant exomoon. A helper droid informs you that an evacuation has been called after an alien invasion was reported at the main base. Something’s gone wrong though. No one’s coming to get you. Alone, you must break out of your remote laboratory and traverse the landscape back to the moonbase. From there you have to figure out what’s going on, and cancel the evacuation before you get left behind. The situation is dire but, if you uncover the whole truth, you might save more lives than your own…
