Christmas Company

Well, my grandmama and grandpapa and Aunt Sue came over with my cousins for Christmas. Belle, who is a Schnauzer, belongs to Grandmama and grandpapa. Stevie and Jack, who are daschuds, belong to Aunt Sue, and Jerry Jeans, who belongs to my other grandma. So we had eight of us lovely doggies in the house. What fun!! Mama will post a picture of all of us getting a treat in the kitchen. We won't sit together for a picture to be taken.

Belle acted bad on Friday when she got here but she was nice the rest of the time. She is very jealous. Jerry cries for Aunt Sue if she leaves the room. We all just want to be in the middle of everything. Sometimes food drops to the floor during Christmas dinner and we were able to get some of it. Belle likes to put her face in people's laps during dinner to see if she can get a taste of their food.

We all had a good time.

This is our friend Frankie. She was spending the night with us and we all had a good time. Posted by Hello

Evening on the couch

I'm sitting on the couch tonight watching TV with my dad. My mama had the camera and caught me just sitting here minding my own business. Mama was out and about today getting some things ready to have dinner for dad's mom, who we call Mimi, and dad's brother and his wife. They have two doggies at their house. Gurdie and Roxie. They are beagles and love to bark. Maybe mama will get their picture and put it up on my blog for me.

Mama said she ran into a friend of hers today. Mama's friend has a pug named Frankie who stayed with us a couple of days. We love Frankie. We hope she comes back to stay again. I'll get my mom to put a picture of Frankie up for you to see. Mama's friend had a little girl pug named Lucy who was the sweetest girl in the world. She would stay with us when her mama had to go out of town. She would sleep up under the covers. We miss Lucy. She passed to the rainbow bridge too early.

Tune in soon for more introductions to other family members with pictures.

My Brother Baxter aka Man aka Mannish aka Big Man

Now it's time to tell you the story of my brother Baxter. We call him Man or Big Man around here. He was the last pug to come live here at our house. He came here on January 10, 2002.

My mama worked at the courthouse at the time and everyone that knew her knew that she loved pugs. One day she got a call from someone in the building that someone else in the building was needing to give their pug a home. Mama thought she knew someone that wanted one, but it didn't work out and the person changed their mind about wanting to give him away anyway.

Well, a year went by and she got another phone call from the man with the pug and he wanted to know if mama was interested in taking the pug. Mama thought she had her hands full with all of us so she said she would take him and planned on calling around to see if she could find him a home. She made a phone call to someone and they were calling someone else over the weekend and it did not pan out....

In the meantime, mama met the man at the Target parking lot on Friday night and picked up Big Man. He was sedated because he does not ride in the car very well. The man said his wife was at home crying about giving him away. But they had a new baby and a new house with wood floors and he was having to stay shut off from everyone. Mama was happy to take him.

Mama brought him home and put him down outside the front door. We three pugs and dad were waiting by the door and we saw mama and Big Man come up to the door. Big Man was moving slow and looking around. He came in the house and didn't know where he was. Mama said she remembers the next day he looked at her and it was just like he said, "Where am I? Where is my other family?" Mama felt so sorry for him.

Mama said the man said he had been given away about three times before. He had no papers and no one knows how old he is. So we put his birthday as January 10, the day he came to live with us. We think he's seven years old.

Anyway, he got along so well with the rest of us girls that mama didn't want to find him another home. Mama and dad found out that he has a pee pee problem. He drips urine and he has to take medicine but it doesn't help too much. But our whole house has tile floors so mama just cleans up and it doesn't ruin the floor. Mama said that is probably why he has been given away so many times. He is such a good boy otherwise. Mama never thought she'd have a boy but she is so glad she has him. He sticks by mama's side all the time.

Stay tuned for some pictures of Big Man and then some pictures of all of us together.

This is Tiny. This is her Christmas necklace that she wears every year. If you take it out of the drawer and jingle it, she knows it's hers. Posted by Hello

Tiny aka Bunny aka Rabbit aka Tabby aka Cartwright

Hi, it's me, Ragus aka Sugar again. I want to tell you the story of how my big sister Tiny got here. My mama told me this story too.

My dad looked in the paper, like he's known to do sometimes, and found an ad for a black pug. The puppies were in the state next to ours. The same state my sister Chichi came from. Mama and daddy drove over there at night and met the man at a little store in the country. Mama said he had a pet carrier with two black pug girls in it. He said they could pick the one they wanted. The other baby was going to someone else but she had not picked one yet. Mama wanted both of the pugs. Daddy made the decision. As mama and dad drove home, Tiny peepee'd on dad. Ha!!! Dad did not have a towel with him either.

Tiny was not the first named picked for her. Dad wanted to call her Jabbo but that didn't stick. She was so small when she came to live with mama and dad that the name "Tiny" was just right. Aunt Sue liked the name Daisy. My mama whispered to me that Tiny almost went to live with Aunt Sue because she would not get along with Chichi in the beginning. But that passed.

Tiny came home and mama called Aunt Sue and said, "Come over here and visit." She didn't tell Aunt Sue that Tiny was here or that dad was even thinking about getting another puppy. Aunt Sue came over and Tiny was in her basket with her Nupi doll. Aunt Sue was delighted that there was another pug puppy to love on. Tiny likes to sleep with a doll (stuffed animal). That is because she is still a baby even though she is ten years old this month.

I know that my daddy loves me but he really LOVES Tiny. That is his girl. She is very bossy and she bosses him around. If he wants to sit in a certain chair that she can't sit in, she barks at him until he gets in another chair where she can sit with him. Mama said Tiny was a terrorist when she was a baby. She was always biting on Chichi. Dad says that Chichi was always jumping on Tiny. Dad always takes up for Tiny even when she's bad. I heard that mama dropped Tiny accidently when she was a baby....maybe that is why she still acts like a baby.

Tiny is beautiful, I must admit. Almost as pretty as me! Every day at 5:00 she stands at the front windows and barks until dad gets home. When dad has to work out of town, mama lets her bark until she gives up. Tiny does not like other black dogs. She will try to bite them. Tiny gets her dinner bowl put down first but this is only because she is so bossy.

I will get my mom to put her picture up so you can see how pretty she is. She is on mama and dad's Christmas card this year. Maybe next year I will be on the Christmas card! But I have my own blog....na na na na na.

Oh yeah, Aunt Sue was baby-sitting us while mama and daddy were in San Francisco and we wouldn't let Aunt Sue get much sleep, so Aunt Sue watched old TV shows early in the morning. She would watch Gun Smoke and that's how Tiny got the name Cartwright.

Stay tuned for the story of how my brother Baxter aka Man aka Mannish aka Big Man came to live here. He is special too.

Time to go sit by the door and wait on dad to get home.

This is Chichi. She is ten years old this year. Her eyes are really brown, not this ugly photo-blue color. Posted by Hello

My sister Chichi aka Cheeta aka Nina aka Nini aka Rudy

I need to tell you the story of my sister Chichi and how she came to be here. Of course, she got here years before I did so my mama told me this story.

My dad had a pug when he was little. Her name was Fannie. He really loved her and she left for the rainbow bridge due to a tragic accident. Mama didn't tell me what happened so I can't tell you all.

Daddy decided to get mama a pug. He went to play golf one day and was gone an extra long time and had not called mama. She was wondering what in the world was taking him so long. Well, when he got home, he told mama he had bought a picture to hang in the house and it was in the trunk of the car. So mama when outside to help him with it. He opened the trunk and there was a cardboard box. Mama said, "What's that?" Dad said, "Look." There was a little puppy pug in the box. Mama was so shocked. She didn't know dad was going to do this. Mama had never had her own dog before, just cats (and lots of them).

Mama got the little bitty Chichi and took her in the house and called Aunt Sue, who lived next door at the time, to come over and see what she had. Aunt Sue came over and didn't know what kind of dog Chichi was. But Aunt Sue loved her right away.

Chichi was a sick little puppy in the beginning and the old man vet mama took her to was mean and said, "You should take her back to the breeder. You shouldn't pay for a sick dog." Mama said no way. Chichi got better! Soon, Chichi and mama and dad moved to another house down the highway. Aunt Sue was still close by. Aunt Sue has all kinds of baby-sitting duties for us, so she has to stay close by.

Mama loves all of us, but I think she holds a special kind of place in her heart for Chichi because she was her first baby. That's okay because she treats us all the same. We all get a treat at the same time. And you know that's what's important to us.

Next I'll tell the story of my sister Tiny aka Rabbit aka Bunny. Why so many names? I think mama and daddy are crazy sometimes.

Oh, yeah, I just have to tell you that Chichi is a big shaking chicken pug when it lightenings and thunders outside. She will try to find a place to hide. She also puts her face right up to the wall like if she can't see anything, then it's not really there! Ha, ha. She would get mad at me for telling that she's a big chicken. She hid in the fireplace one time.

I'll get my mama to put her picture up here so you can see how pretty she is.

This is my cousin Jackson who belongs to my Aunt Sue. He is bossy and steals my chews and tears my toys up. But I really do love him. Posted by Hello

I look like a Russian lady pug. My Aunt Sue is holding the scarf on me so mama could get my picture. Posted by Hello

How I got my name Ragus

I want to tell everyone how I got the name Ragus for my blog. My grandpapa called me that one day and my mama didn't know what he was saying. Grandpapa said that's Sugar spelled backwards. Now you know that my real name is Sugar!! And that's the name I've had all my life and it fits me very well because I am so SWEET!!

Me and Tiny and Chichi and Baxter (aka MAN) , we love it when grandmama and grandpapa come to visit. My grandpapa tries to hide and sneak in the house when we are busy doing something else and then he'll whistle and we go try to find where that whistle is coming from. Sometimes he knocks on something so we think somebody's at the door. We go crazy when we see him. Run, jump on the furniture, bark, one of us knows how to howl, and we just scoot around.

Grandmama and Grandpapa always leave with some of our beautiful hair on them when they go home. My mama says it's a nice reminder of us throughout the day when you find our hair on your clothes.

Thank you Lori and Pugsley for leaving my first comment! Pugsley, you are a fine looking man. I want some of your toys that you got for an early Christmas present.

I will get my mama to put another picture of me on here later.

Tune in again to hear another story. I might introduce my sisters and brother eventually. They wish they had their own blog. Too bad. Mama is giving me a chance to SHINE!

There's always a first time

Well, this is the first post I have EVER done. What a moment in pug history.

My name is Ragus and I am a pug. I have a story to tell but my mama doesn't understand what I'm trying to say. It's locked up inside me.

My dad found an ad in the newspaper and called about me. They drove about 20 miles to come to where I was living to see me. I was living in a small house that was so thick with cigarette smoke that my mom said you could cut it with a knife. I lived on a little couch in a room with three cages of Cockatiels. They sure were noisy. My new mom asked my old mom why she was getting rid of me and she said she didn't have time to spend with me. You know pugs need lots of time with their people.

I have two tattoos on my body and my new mom asked my old mom what they were and old mom told new mom they were bruised from running out a doggy door. But my new mom took me to the vet right away and he said they were tattos, probably from being bred for puppies. Let's the breeder know how many puppies I had. New mom had to go get $100 from the ATM to pay for me. I am so glad. I live in Pug Palace now.

I went straight to Wal-Mart and got a new harness and leash. I came home to live with my two sister pugs and one brother pug. There are four of us. We love each other so much and our mom and dad love us too.

My mom is new at blogging so she will put my picture up when she figures it all out. Maybe all my pug family will get their picture up here too.

That's all for now. Check back soon.
