Christmas Eve and Christmas day 2008

Just wanted to share a few pictures from the past week. I didn't get any pictures of the food. But I plan on putting some recipes up that I used. I like to share the recipes here because I can come back a few years from now and find them again real easy!

Here is Alfred enjoying peace and quiet in the little tent in the dining room. He has a good chew going on.

Christmas eve we went over to the husband's brother's house and got to see our niece-in-law with the twins. Nephew was missed as he is overseas but coming home soon. So the niece that's getting married was there with her fiance and their big great dane doggy who is so so so sweet but so so so big.

I send my SIL and BIL an arrangement for Christmas every year. This is what they received this year. I was a bit disappointed that it did not have flowers in it but it was still pretty. Next year I will have to tell them to put some flowers in it.

My SIL always makes goodies at Christmas and we get some along with a nice serving dish or basket.

Christmas day at our house there were 10 dogs and six humans. Here is Trouble aka Bit. She is so cute but lives up to her name, too.

Here is Jackson...Aunt Sue's child and the boss.

The parents brought over a gift for each dog child...including the ones we were babysitting. Holly got a few big doggy bones. Here she is enjoying one of them.

Trouble/Bit got this funny-looking toy. She has to have sturdy toys because she rips things up.

Here is Alfred with his special Christmas toy. He like for me to take the toy away and throw it down the hall.

The husband found a calendar for me after Christmas. He forgot to get me one while there was a good selection...but I like Blue Dog pictures so he made a good choice. He said that's all that was left in desk calendars.

Christmas cards....I love getting Christmas cards. I enjoy sending them. This year I did not get a picture of the pugs done in time and didn't get as many cards in the mail as I usually do. I'm sure I missed some people and next year I hope to do better. I may be able to get a picture of the new crew of four and send them out to announce that we have four pugs in the house again! Thank you to everyone that included us in your Christmas cards!

The husband was good to me at Christmas...even though we were not to do presents. I will enjoy this gift! Did I ever mention I like sparkly things? I did give him three ties that I found in Atlanta for him to wear with his new suits he recently got. He hasn't had new ties in a while so he really like them.

Girlville Goodies

The other day when the husband checked the mail...this was in the mailbox!! Thank you Girlville for these goodies. I love it all. Chocolate is already eaten as I write this.

I'll be back tomorrow with rundown of Christmas eve and day. Holly and Alfred are doing great. Holly is really getting around great now. Cowboy and Big Casino are still here. Let me just say that I really like my floor steam cleaner I recently purchased.

Christmas Eve

Well, if you counted the pugs in the pictures...there's six! Cowboy and Big Casino have come over to stay for a few days while their family goes to New Orleans for Christmas. So there's three boys and three girls in the house!

Holly is really doing great making her away around without much help anymore. I'm so glad she is such a trooper. She's pretty quick, too. She stays under my desk on a bed while I work. Alfred is doing great. He loves sleeping in the bed. He sticks close by, too, at all times. I know they must think about where their other family is but they seem to be doing good. Sugar and Emma and Holly and Alfred are all getting along very well. Thank you AM for letting us give them a home!

I received these beautiful flowers and yummy chocolates from Pug Posse! They sure do bright up the dining room table. I didn't decorate this year so this was a nice surprise to put some pretty red color for the Christmas dinner tomorrow. Thank you Lisa and Brad and girls and pugs and other furry friends big and small.

Secret santa and other goodies

This weekend started off on Friday night at a 18th birthday party for a girl at church. I was asked to attend to take pictures of the mom could enjoy the party without having to think about getting the pics. It was good food and Aunt Sue and I had a good time. We even brought cake home. Then we went back to the house on Sunday after church for leftovers. The decorations were Disney princesses and then the cake was a castle.

The mailman came on Saturday and delivered a bunch of boxes!!! They were all for me...poor husband didn't get anything.

Here is a box of goodies from Elvispug out in California! It was full of treat bags for Alfred, Holly, Emma and Sugar. And there were some scones for me and tea and boy are they good! Thank you L. for those goodies!

Then there was the box from my Secret Santa!!!! Can you guess who it is?? This pug and his Woman enjoy making Christmas cookies this time of year...I got some! I got a bag of scone mix and a cute broom made my North Carolina craftsperson. It's nice to see that kind of handiwork that you don't get to ever see. And some yummy doggies treats! The pugs and I thank you Norman and Woman and Ian!

Then there is a box from Punchy! She made Emma a Christmas dress that matches Sugar's that she made last year. And there was a Christmas tie for Alfred and a Christmas ruffle for Holly. Oh my goodness...they are the cutest. I am just amazed at the good work that Punchy does on these clothes. I will try to get them all dressed and get a picture to post soon. I was not able to get pictures made in time to send out this year....boo. But I may get a picture of all four of them soon and send it out. Also in the box from Punchy were some woodland glittery shiny pinecones that will go on my woodland tree some day! And a pug pin to wear on my shirt and a shirt from the pugstock festival that Punchy's pug group put on. I love it all...thank you punchy!

I'll be back with more gingerbread pictures and also hope to have more pictures of Holly and Alfred and Sugar and Emma. All of them are doing well. They get along fine. Alfred is working on a rawhide bone I bought the other day. Holly stays close to me all the time. She sleeps a lot and mostly wherever I am she wants to be. Alfred is that way, too. They are so so so sweet. I saw my vet in the grocery store tonight and told him we had two more pugs and he was happy for us! I bet he's happy, too, because we'll be seeing him more often like we used to when we had four before. The husband wants Alfred to be his boy and to spend more time hanging out with him...but Alfred is a ladies' man.

Alfred and Holly are getting along here pretty good. Alfred loves sleeping in the bed and so does Holly. I got another tent/dog house at Target thinking Holly would like to sleep in that at night. But Alfred and Holly both want to be in the bed and I don't have the heart to make them stay in the tent. I tried to get her to stay in the tent but she paced the floor for 30 minutes and I gave in and put her on the bed and she was fine. I'm a bit worried she might fall off because she can't see the edge. So I put her beside me in the middle of the bed and she seems to sleep through the night. Alfred sleeps really good. Holly is getting used to the layout in the house. She is now coming up the one step from living room on her own. She knows that I spend most of my time at the computer working and she has a blanket under my desk and that's where she spends a lot of time. I think in a few days she will have it all figured out.

Here are some pictures of gingerbread houses at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. I'll be sharing more pictures for the next few days.

I don't know if I'll get Christmas cards out this year or not. I may try to get a New Year's card of all the pugs sent out if I can get them to all sit in one place long enough...or I'll have to put the husband in the picture with them. I sure do appreciate the cards I have gotten from blogging friends. I just got my MIL's present in the mail yesterday so I hope it makes it to her in time.

The twins will be in town for Christmas with their mom. Their dad is overseas for a few months and will be missed on Christmas Eve. Niece and her fiance will be in town, too. I hope to hear about wedding plans.
