This story will be of SONICFAN's (my Sonic OC, for this story) perspective, with rather little of Sonic's screen time [you may choose to use your own Sonic OC over mine, if you want].
Before you set your expectations on this, no, Sonic is not going to be written poorly, like how he's actually written in the actual show.
This is my first time doing this kind of story, so I might not be the best at it, so I won't mind any criticism on this.
Also, no hate on any gay/lesbian people who read this. Speaking of romance, there will be fairly little moments of those, because what I have thought of what themes I want to implement is more of a slightly darker tone, which would correspond to the moral of this story; "mending those who are broken" {because everyone is broken, like the Paradox Prism}.

“Sonic, no!” Tails screamed out mid battle. He was moving before he could really think. Everyone was fighting to stop Eggman from taking the mysterious yet powerful Paradox Prism. And now here Sonic was, running ahead without thinking. When Tails say Sonic roll up into a spin dash he knew he had to stop him from barreling into the prism. There was no telling what doing that could do. And so he took action, flying between Sonic and the prism in hope of stopping him. He should’ve known that wouldn’t work, that Sonic wouldn’t be able to stop in time.

My take on a Tails Prime story! With Tails getting knocked into the Paradox Prism and shattering it while trying to stop Sonic, he must embark on a journey or personal growth and self reflection in order to save his home and his friends.

I feel like sonic recovered way too quickly in Sonic Prime season 3 episode 2, (the one where the council has to extract his energy to raise the sheild btw) so I made it with his thoughts and withought the cuts to Nine’s side of things.

Summary
A high tension standoff occurs when Team Sonic gains possession of the No Place Prism shard and hides in the depths of the planet's vast oceans. While the Chaos Council searches overhead, the team tries to gain some footing.
The underwater base plan goes awry, of course it's Shadow and Sonic who are last to escape. It's their best luck that emergency protocols only make the situation worse, and as if it couldn't plummet further- it does exactly that. Now stuck thousands of meters underwater, separated from the others and running out of time, two rivals have to learn to get along and work together.
Although, that doesn't seem to be Sonic's problem... -
