Shadow awoke to a flicky perched on his face. He gently placed them on the ground before surveying his environment.
The dark hedgehog found himself in a massive jungle. The sunlight barely filtered through the canopy, casting most of the forest in darkness. Shadow’s eyes then drifted on a familiar landmark, the loop-de-loop. Before he could ponder further, his enhanced hearing picked up on a voice coming towards him. Not wanting to take any chances Shadow skated and crouched behind a bush.
“Remember not to make a sound. The monster could be anywhere.”
Rouge? No, that's not her. She would never wear dark green eyeshadow.

Ren didn’t even turn Dread’s way. He sat with his back to him, his arms crossed and resting on his bent knees. At Dread’s call, he pulled his shoulders up, almost curling in on himself as he let out a huff.
"Get lost, Dread. I ain't in the mood."
Well. That was different.
Not that Ren never told Dread to get lost. That was practically an automatic reaction when Dread was being particularly annoying toward the urban echidna. Dread would greet him, Ren would sigh and roll his eyes, and usually snap back with some insult. It was their thing.
They were brothers and that’s just how they interacted. They poked at each other, got a few good jabs, then went to play poker or something. It was just what they did.
But today Ren seemed particularly moody.

It has been 9 years since the Resistance managed to defeat the Chaos Council and turn the dystopian New Yoke into Palm Hill. Since then, Sonic has gotten married, had a child, and is hailed as the city's most popular hero. Nine, on the other hand, was set to be married in only a couple more months. Things were great down in Palm Hill!
But in the Shatterverse was Shadow the Hedgehog, trying to bring back the life in Ghost Hill all alone. All he had was himself and a burning hatred for Sonic.
What would happen if these two finally met each other again? Will the fate of Green Hill be permanently set in stone? Or will the Paradox Prism be rejoined once again to bring it back?

"Mmm," Shadow hums as he tips his head back with a pleased sigh as the echidna kisses along his neck, laying his arms over Renegade's own.
