Not knowing of Peter Parker and Otto Octavius's mind swapping or Peter's now having said body back, Iron Man creates a rigged tournament to humble the 'Superior' Spider-Man. The fake reward is either a considerable cash prize or a spot in the Avengers, making Peter rush to join up after getting some upgrades to his suit and web-shooters at the Spider's Nest (PS4 costume and web-shooters)

After School of Hardknocks, Ms. Marvel suggests Spider-Man gets a new job so the Daily Bugle will have less footage of Spider-Man to keep dragging his name through the mud. The polymorph suggests the Fantastic Four because Spidey is into science, but she does not make it clear that it should be Peter Parker, not Spider-Man!
2017 Spider-Man now follows in the footsteps of his comic counterpart of having a short 'spar' with the team of four, but unlike the comics, something good might come of this fight. Though Tony/Iron Man will be less the pleased as Reed Richards steals his protege!

Enlisted Macklin, aka Blizzard, to distract New York while he and his forces raided Oscorp, which should have guaranteed victory for Adrian Toomes. With it being the day before Christmas and a mild snow storm on the way, it should been easy for the restored 'Blizzard' to enhance the storm and keep everyone focused on Avengers Tower.
No one expected Spider-Man to throw a wrench into the works now that he was back in his body and fresh from his fight with Venom at Midtown.
On the plus side, the Avengers help Peter Parker get a head start on cleaning up his life as a holiday gift. Sadly for Ms. Marvel, her part backfires and she has to do something even more 'special' than planned.
