Summary
Had life been a bit more fair, then none of this would have happened, and none of them would meet, for better or for worse. Given the circumstances, they’d all have to navigate through it together.
AKA Metaphor Refantazio but exploring how story and a few follower bond events impact the main party and their relationships with one another (because I wish certain aspects of character backstories got more of a focus and I like seeing them interact).

It's probably not a great idea to start a poorly negotiated and extremely intimate ANR thing with a co-worker who you drunkenly kissed at a New Year's Eve party in the recent past who you've been quietly nursing a crush on even though you're pretty sure he doesn't like you as much as you like him, all while you are in the middle of freezing your goddamn eggs because you want to focus on your career, but in Lydia's defense: it was sure fucking hot.

Loki’s mouth curved into a familiar smirk, though it didn’t reach his eyes as he glanced up at Mobius. “And where exactly are you planning on going, Mobius? What’s out there in the middle of this... wilderness that I need to follow you to?”
Mobius grinned, taking another step forward, the sunlight filtering through the trees catching his face in a soft glow. “I don’t know, maybe I’m hoping you’ll come find out.”

At least it was mid-afternoon and the restaurant was mostly empty, so there weren't many people around to see the flare of warmth that kicked up in him when he caught sight of Jesse these days. The little mongrel was well on his way to becoming a lap dog, and Gus' lap was devastatingly empty. Maybe he'd call Jesse back into his office and hope none of the employees needed him for the next hour. Was it worth the risk? Yes, everyone knew they knew each other now, but no one knew Gus was fucking Jesse out of his mind at least five nights a week. No one knew the pretty black-violet hickeys that circled his neck like a collar had been put there by Gus. Imbuing his voice with false politeness and plastering a smile across his face to cover his hungry look, Gus asked, "What can I get for you today?"

“You know…out of all of us,” a remark from Cassidy. Catching the attention of all of them in the dining hall. “Damon is the only one I haven't seen genuinely smile.”
A mere silence among them. It was the truth-their classmate is usually stoic, quite stubborn, and very opinionated. Which makes sense as he's the Ultimate Debater.
“So?” Wenona questioned, clearly agitated. Damon was the only other person they weren't too fond of. “Why does that matter?” She asked. A snicker escapes from Cassidy. Which does make a few of them groan. It was clear that she had an idea.
“A competition!” Cassidy yelled, a wide grin upon her face. A challenge?
“Come again?” Grace raised an eyebrow. A giggle from Cassidy, as she continued to talk. “A competition, a little light-hearted challenge, first to get an actual genuine laugh and smile from Damon-wins!”
They all stare at their classmate with different expressions upon all of them. A challenge involving another classmate of theirs? Specifically, Damon? It was…a bad idea.
Or, somehow seeing Damon with a raw emotion makes Wolfgang feel a certain way.

One caveat: Truham’s “seniority program” means that he will be paired with an upper classman from last year’s graduating class. The better to prepare for college, etc. etc…but his partner is the ex-captain of the rugby team, possibly the laddest lad the school could possibly think of to pair with the outed gay kid.

Yu freezes in place, looking at the kettle in his hand like it's wronged him. "I knew that."
He most definitely did not know that, even though Kento has taped the recipe to both the fridge and a counter, just for good measure. It's safe to say that cooking isn't Yu's forte. Kento would usually laugh at his friend's struggle but, endearing as Yu is, he can't find any humour in the situation at hand.
