A prominent computer scientist who has spent 20 years publishing academic papers on cryptography, privacy, and cybersecurity has gone incommunicado, had his professor profile, email account, and phone number removed by his employer, Indiana University, and had his homes raided by the FBI. No one knows why.

Fellow researchers took to social media over the weekend to register their concern over the series of events.

“None of this is in any way normal,” Matthew Green, a professor specializing in cryptography at Johns Hopkins University, wrote on Mastodon. He continued: “Has anyone been in contact? I hear he’s been missing for two weeks and his students can’t reach him. How does this not get noticed for two weeks???”

In the same thread, Matt Blaze, a McDevitt professor of computer science and law at Georgetown University, said: “It’s hard to imagine what reason there could be for the university to scrub its website as if he never worked there. And while there’s a process for removing tenured faculty, it takes more than an afternoon to do it.”

im not criticising brilliant minds because i haven’t even watched an episode yet, but i sincerely cannot imagine a less appealing endorsement than “its like house if everything that made house awesome was removed” like hey guys you wanna watch this zombie apocalypse movie but with the zombies taken out? yeah its just a group of people in a run club. house if he was nice and not addicted to drugs. well ok. let me show you the sinstine chapel without all that fucken paint i guess

in each episode house would break 18 international laws, and still commit medical malpractice against an old man, just to reveal he must have encountered the neighbor’s cat a week before he was hospitalized. the 20-30 year old interns are still there with no changes from the original show.

okay, so i checked out some Sleep Token. Finally.

its interesting for sure. Overall the vibes are more like a rock opera than a specific genre. They have so much movement in them.

i really love the lyricism of it all.

Emergence stands out so far, but im not super deep in yet.

My priority recommendations are Alkaline, The Offering, and Take Me Back To Eden. Knowing that you’ve already heard Emergence is wild, bc that’s arguably one of their best yet. So so glad you’re enjoying em!!

aaaahhhhhhh!!!!

piano melody in Aqua Regia, my love!!

im completely normal about this, i swear….
