Alan Kolata
Alan L. Kolata is the Bernard E. and Ellen C. Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago. He holds his Ph.D. in Anthropology from Harvard University. He leads ongoing interdisciplinary research projects studying the long- term interactions of humans with their physical environment, including the effects of climate change on human communities. He has conducted research in Bolivia, Peru, Thailand and most recently in Cambodia where his research team is focusing on the physical, biological, and social impacts of large-scale hydroelectric development of the Mekong River Basin. He is the single author of 5 monographs, the editor of 6 books and has published over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.
