I don't think I've ever seen anything that more perfectly replicates how psychosis feels. The latching onto/ascribing meaning to little details. The endless "searching..." as your brain tries to fit every real-life stimulus into its narrative of what's REALLY going on. The background preoccupation with real, ongoing emotional difficulty...
People often imagine psychotic delusions as being entirely dependent on hallucination, people seeing and talking to fully fleshed out, convincing looking characters. But delusion doesn't require hallucination at all. All it requires is the conviction that ordinary things are a puzzle to be solved, that there's meaning to be made... and that you're so close to understanding things that no one else knows.

Apparently collecting empty eggshells, coloring them, filling them with confetti and then cracking them over eachother's heads isn't something everyone does during easter...........we used to find confetti in our hair for days after
Btw they're called "cascarones" and it's a very common Mexican tradition. there's a lot of tutorials online on how to make them if you're curious about it! I have a lot of fond childhood memories of the Egg Wars......and yes it's very messy

Willem Arondéus (22 August 1894 – 1 July 1943) was a Dutch artist and author who joined the Dutch anti-Nazi resistance movement during World War II. He participated in the bombing of the Amsterdam public records office to hinder the Nazi German effort to identify Dutch Jews and others wanted by the Gestapo. Arondéus was caught and executed soon after his arrest. Yad Vashem recognized Arondéus as Righteous Among the Nations.
Their attack, which took place on 27 March 1943, was partially successful, and they managed to destroy 800,000 identity cards, and retrieve 600 blank cards and 50,000 guilders. The building was blown up and no one was caught on the night of the attack. However, due to an unknown betrayer, Arondéus was arrested on 1 April 1943. Arondéus refused to give up the rest of his team.
Arondéus was openly gay before the war and defiantly asserted his sexuality before his execution. His final words were:
"Tell the people that homosexuals are not by definition weak."

For those who don’t follow kakapo conservation, they are critically endangered parrots who only breed on years where the rimu tree they rely on meet a certain threshold of fruit production. One breeding season in 4 years can be typical, and about half of all eggs laid by kakapo are infertile (they still aren’t completely certain why, it could be a recent population bottleneck) so each fertile egg is worth its weight in gold.
This was one of only 5 fertile eggs laid on the Whenua Hou island population in the 2014 breeding season and it got crushed by its mother on accident. It was mended with glue and tape and incubated by the rangers until hatching.
At 150 days old kakapo chicks are officially added to the population total and given a unique name, until then they are given their mother’s name and a number for birth order laid in the clutch. This chick was known as Lisa-one before officially being given the name Ruapuke by local indigenous Ngai Tahu people.Here he is grown up:

One of the earliest known illuminated Ashkenazi Pentateuchs, this manuscript was created for Gad ben Peter Ha-Levi, head of the Jewish community of Regensburg. Some of its four full-page biblical scenes incorporate midrashic interpretations, such as the Satan telling Sarah that Isaac has been sacrificed, and it also features a double-page depiction of Temple vessels.
Representations of these vessels are rarely found in Ashkenazi manuscripts, although they often appear in Sephardi ones as visual expressions of the Jewish people’s hope for redemption.
