OBJETIVOS:

● Practico e identifico los sonidos t- and s-

● Comprendo y empleo el posesivo (‘s) para indicar pertenencia, y relación entre los miembros de la
familia.
● Distingo, diferencio y comprendo el uso de los adjetivos posesivos y los pronombres posesivos.
● Utilizo y selecciono los adjetivos y pronombres posesivos en oraciones.
● Creo y presento a la familia utilizando el vocabulario y los temas vistos.

PRESENTACIÓN:

En esta guía se presentarán los adjetivos posesivos que hacen referencia al poseedor y no a la cosa
poseída. De igual manera los pronombres posesivos que nos ayudan a indicar cuando alguien es poseedor
de algo o a quien le pertenece algo.

Con esta guía, usted podrá probarse en su nivel de lengua y evidenciar sus grandes avances en el
transcurso del desarrollo de la guía, en este proceso usted es el principal protagonista y en mi rol docente
estaré acompañándolo de manera constante y dinámica, recuerde que yo soy su guía y que mi labor es
darle todo el apoyo posible, nunca dude en preguntarme, siempre estaré con la mejor disposición para
solucionar sus dudas, y para que construyamos el saber en equipo.

POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES - POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS

 APROPIACIÓN

● Cognitiva: Antes de entrar en el tema de los adjetivos y pronombres posesivos, es importante que
reconozca qué es un pronombre y qué es un adjetivo.

Pronombre (pronoun) Adjetivo (adjective)

Son palabras que hacen referencia a otras palabras ya Los adjetivos no sustituyen un nombre, sino que lo acompañan:
nombradas. Por ejemplo, un pronombre sujeto (subject El hombre alto, un delicioso café….

Ahora veámoslo con los adjetivos posesivos: Juan
● I asked Carlos to come to the party, but he was ill. encontró su libro, pero María no encontró el suyo.

I y He hacen la función de sujeto, sustituyen al nombre. * Juan found his book, but Mary didn´t find hers.

En este caso His es un adjetivo porque acompaña a un nombre:

De igual manera funcionan los pronombres posesivos. I like ( book); mientras que hers es un pronombre posesivo porque
your dress, do you like mine? no acompaña a nada, sino sustituye al nombre (book).

Para evitar repetir Dress, se reemplaza con el pronombre

posesivo Mine.

POSSESSIVE ‘S (APOSTROPHE)

APROPIACIÓN

The Possessive case is used to express that something belongs to someone or to show a relationship of
ownership between two or more people. We show this ownership by adding an apostrophe and an s to
 the noun if the noun is a person or an animal. We use the word "of" if there is a relation between two or
more things.

El Possessive Case se usa para expresar que algo pertenece a alguien o para mostrar una relación de
pertenencia entre dos o más personas. Mostramos esta propiedad agregando un apóstrofe (‘) y una “s” al
sustantivo si el sustantivo es una persona o un animal. Usamos la palabra "of" si hay una relación de
pertenencia entre dos o más objetos.

Singular: 's (Nombre + 's) Plural: s'
This is Tom's bike. These are the boys' bikes.
(Ésta es la bicicleta de Tom) (Esas son las bicicletas de los chicos.)
This is Kathy's mother. This is the girls' mum.
(Ésta es la mamá de Kathy) (Ésta es la mama de las chicas.)

's with irregular plural forms: These are our children's cell phones.

('s con formas irregulares de plural: Éstos son los celulares de nuestros hijos.)
Éstos son algunos de los sustantivos irregulares más comunes en inglés:
Men, hombres / Women, mujeres / People, personas / Children, niños (hijos)/ Teeth, dientes/ Feet, pies/Mice, ratones/ Oxen,
bueyes/Geese, Gansos.

s' with people's names ending in "s": This is Charles' car.

(s' con los nombres de personas que terminen en “s”: Éste es el carro de Charles.)
To express an ownership for two or more people put the 's to the final name:

This girl is Ken and Bob's sister.

(Para expresar pertenencia por parte de dos o más personas, ponemos 's al último nombre:
Ésta chica es la hermana de Ken y Bob.)
