CONCLUSION
El conocimiento de los mecanismos y de
las condiciones biticas y fsico-qumicas en
que tiene lugar la oxidacin de la pirita per-
mite establecer las pautas de acidificacin
que pueden producirse en distintos sistemas
naturales. Este conocimiento resulta esen-
cial para una adecuada planificacin de las
medidas destinadas a controlar impactos
ambientales sobre suelos, aguas y organis-
mos, as como para el establecimiento de los
procedimientos ms adecuados dirigidos a
la recuperacin de escombreras y suelos de
mina. En caso contrario, se corre el riesgo
de alcanzar resultados diferentes a los espe-
rados, que en ocasiones pueden llegar a
agravar el problema, o, cuando menos, a
realizar inversiones de mayor entidad que
las realmente necesarias.
