The Substance 2024
The use of horror and gore in this movie is just so perfect in depicting the issues at hand. The effect on society on our ability to love ourselves. The more disturbing the images are, the more you can feel the self-hate of the main character, and the deep sadness of it all. I don’t think I can ever watch this again but I will probably never forget about it, which I guess means the movie served its purpose.
