  this movie was an exercise in tolerating social cringe and secondhand embarrassment, BUT justifiably so. any of these feelings that may arise just play into the narrative further.

  i love the critique of cultures that foster this need, this unwritten rule to be ultra polite and “small” when in the company of others, even at your own detriment. the movie (and the characters) inches ever so steadily across the line of normal social boundaries and makes you wonder, how far is too far? what must happen for the characters, or YOU, to say enough is enough?
