Top 250 Narrative Feature Films Challenge
Kurosawa’s take on Macbeth is dripping with atmosphere and shot incredibly, but never really hits its stride narratively (especially when dealing with the specifics of the source material) until the last 20 minutes. Mifune is great as always, but i’ve already seen him give a more compelling performance outside of the director’s filmography.
as my third Kurosawa film, this falls somewhere in the middle for me
