honestly very difficult to understand this as anything other than nicholas roeg coming up with a premise in which we are allowed to stare at mimi's massive tits for 90 minutes. which is cool and allowed but there is some seriously objectionable stuff in this.
roses: mimi's knockers, the quotes on screen throughout, the set, the weird 60s flashbacks
thorns: both of these characters suck, indulgence in the rich white boy self actualizes thru indigenous spirituality and dead working class girl trope, dialogue is really tough sometimes, probably a lot of other stuff
