where the original was this over-the-top, christie-inspired whodunnit with 2000s adam sandler jokes and memorable characters, this one is just kind of like.. none of that? the jokes get the occasional chuckle but play it safe, i don't care for the newly introduced characters + the plot is short and doesn't let you play along. i knew it wasn't going to be good but i didnt expect to be disappointed

Murder Mystery 2019
feels like its straight out of 2004..... crazy that Sandler is still making movies like these and crazier how uncanny it feels when two megastars act like broke starstruck nobodies. at the very least it's a nice nod to Agatha Christie at times
