Beau Travail 1999
This was quite good. The entire time, I felt riveted by the beautiful (and harrowing) visuals. I was impressed — I felt like I was among the legionnaires, waiting in anticipation for something to happen.
When that something did happen, I felt less impressed. I don’t feel that Galoup’s hatred was properly justified/made enough sense in order to trigger the events in the final act(purposefully avoiding spoilers). Despite the final scene being (imo) improperly justified, it was nonetheless beautifully rich and sad.

A lot of good stuff here. Amazing cinematography and really creative editing. Adrian Brody’s performance was next level…the ending was pretty strange and Its not it’s cohesive enough to be great. Guy Pearce was unexpectedly hilarious and added a comedic element that kept even the slower parts entertaining.
