If you've seen any film from Bong Joon Ho, you'll know that a lot of his films are at least a little politically charged. This film was no different in that regard with its not-so-subtle disgraced unelected leader character (whose references were abundantly clear) played by Mark Ruffalo. I have very mixed feelings about this film. I'll start with the positive. Firstly, Denzel Washington is amazing in this film. Secondly, Spike Lee is an amazing director and the film is visually striking. Those are the only positives.
This movie had its moments but all things considered, I think this is the worst film from Spike Lee. While Ray Allen is an amazing ball player, he is a terrible actor. However, that is not my grievance with this film.…
