"I'm not a monster, I'm just ahead of the curve."

The ultimate cinema experience.

I could talk about why this film is so special all day, but I'll try and keep it short(ish). We begin with what is undoubtedly one of the most effective and exquisite openings of all time. Heists are always fun, but barely are they (especially one as short as this) so well crafted, in terms of story and character introduction.

Nolan doesn't give the audience a…

Beautifully shot and expertly conveyed. This works on every level. The film thrives off of a number of elements, but none more so than sheer relatability. From the various adolescent urges explored in the film, as well as the notion that no matter the betrayal, a friendship is often too strong to diminish.

The narration added to the film, not only in terms of providing the audience with some necessary exposition, but I believe, along with the audio switch, it…

I was gripped right from the off with this, something that didn't necessarily happen with the first film. Both openings were intriguing but this film handles the stakes perfectly in the beginning and really makes you care about what you're seeing on screen.

I loved the approach taken which took the viewer on a journey through Vito Corleone's past. It allowed me to gain an understanding of his earlier life and also to let me grow a deeper appreciation of…

“But you danced with your dog.”

A hilariously brutal deep-dive into the ideas of self-actualisation and the seeking of outside validation, when it is always best found from within. MM’s secluded shit-show on Inisherin is one that I won’t be likely to forgot, and also that I plan to revisit swiftly.

If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry. This is every bit as morbidly funny as In Bruges, whilst possibly lacking that certain ‘umph’. But it doesn’t need it. The film possesses a certain relatability and exudes such an array of themes, that the viewer is never left wanting. Class film.

"I feel like a spectator in my own life."

What an absolute rollercoaster of emotions this was. Might possibly be the best film of last year. In fact, I think it definitely is.

As someone who is a bit unsure about what to do in the future, seeing a film that tackles adult uncertainty in such a captivating manner was as refreshing as it was daunting.

Friendships are easy; if people are kind to each other, and genuinely appreciate each…

"I have taken your cigar and I am not taking your case."

Dynamic characters, roll off the tongue dialogue, perfected humour; Billy Wilder's 'Witness For The Prosecution' had it all.

The opening stretch of the film honestly had me in stitches. I burst out laughing countless times, and this light-hearted approach to the film's beginning was the perfect way to ease in the audience to such a harrowing story.

We are greeted with a refreshingly unique lead in Sir Wilfrid…

Favourite heist films:
1. Heat
2. Good Time
3. Ocean's Eleven
4. The Killing
5. The Town

This grabbed me right from the start and held my attention for the films short runtime. Despite the film not being particularly long, its plot was really dense and it handled the plotting stages of the heist perfectly.

I had high hopes going into this and I wasn't disappointed. The film is filled with interesting characters, memorable dialogue and strong performances. Most of…

Taken me way too long to rewatch this. In the first few minutes I was worried that this might not hit the same on rewatch since I knew how everything unfolded, but it quickly became clear that this wasn't going to be the case. I connected with this just as much as I did on first watch, maybe more.

There are countless things to praise, but first I have to mention the immense performances from such a well selected cast.…

The first act had me a tad worried, but this ended up delivering fully. The script is nowhere near the level of TDK, but this is streets ahead in terms of choreography and cinematography; one of the most stunning films ever for sure.

Expectedly; the detective angle offered a new insight into the character that I hadn't quite seen before.

I felt myself consciously sitting-up in my seat as I was so intent on absorbing each instance of intense action…

Infinitely better than 1, and I really enjoyed that. This was great right from the off. The high-stakes opening scenes as well as the dynamic between Peter and Harry were both stand-out aspects.

The CGI and overall look of the film was much better compared to the first. That one felt a bit overly '2000's' from a visual point of view. This was also a lot grittier too.

The script overall was tighter, also. The dialogue was a level above…

It's so jokes that I've taken this long to watch this but I'm glad I did today because this didn't disappoint. I had heard mixed reviews for ages and I can sort of see why, this is probably less well-rounded than some of Tarantino's other work that I've seen, but this was still a great ride from start to finish.

A pattern I'm noticing with QT's films is that even if the run-time is extremely long, my attention is till…
