As someone who is both an Ace Attorney fan and a Film Major, there is a lot to say since I can speak about this film from both perspectives.
They do well in adapting the story of the first game in a rational way while changing the writing to avoid plot illogicalities, but it does feel cramped at times and the pacing is a little strange too; there are moments in the editing where it feels like they were trying…
The pacing of it is certainly strange — with 30 minutes left in the film it still feels like your in the inciting incident of the narrative structure — but you can understand the purpose. They justify the fast paced comedy by having it reflect the news reporters theme so that way they can keep it up for the whole movie to hide any kind of innuendo from the Production Code of the time. Brilliant.
This was the 14th film I ever watched in my university lectures.
There was so many stereotypes, symbolism, and messages in this film to the point where it was impossible for the filmmakers to be subtle about it (not in a bad way). There are two ways for me to give you an idea of just how much there was.
