As someone who is both an Ace Attorney fan and a Film Major, there is a lot to say since I can speak about this film from both perspectives.
They do well in adapting the story of the first game in a rational way while changing the writing to avoid plot illogicalities, but it does feel cramped at times and the pacing is a little strange too; there are moments in the editing where it feels like they were trying…
The pacing of it is certainly strange — with 30 minutes left in the film it still feels like your in the inciting incident of the narrative structure — but you can understand the purpose. They justify the fast paced comedy by having it reflect the news reporters theme so that way they can keep it up for the whole movie to hide any kind of innuendo from the Production Code of the time. Brilliant.
This little featurette is what greatly increased my appreciation for a film I already loved as a kid.
As a kid, you just love cars — I didn’t have any kind of knowledge for professional racing or anything else related. But as an adult, to see the level of detail and depth of research that they put into this film, and how involved they were in going places, having notable racing figures involved and getting sound design and broadcasting aspects…
