Love movies, but if I’m being honest, I’m a genre fan at heart.

Really great high concept, high adventure sci-fi story. Skewed toward a young audience, and maybe it’s just my nostalgia talking, but it’s still a damn good time. Amazing practical effects, stop-motion, highly detailed bigature sets, and committed performances from the children and adults alike add up to a thrilling adventure surviving your backyard when you’re a quarter inch tall.
The Incredible Shrinking Man walked so this movie could run!
Michael Douglas has the worst taste in women. Between this and Basic Instinct a few weeks ago, it’s safe to say he should stay away from blondes. Glenn Close is terrifying as she progressively reveals just how unhinged her character is.
The final sequence was changed at the studio’s insistence, and it’s so tonally different with it becoming an action/horror, but still a solid thriller regardless.
How can you expect me to believe that she drove for a full mile and didn't notice the 6 foot 250 lb maniac with a revved chainsaw laying down in the back seat!??!?!
