Cringe, but also kinda charming. It thrives in its carefree energy and killer soundtrack, but its attempts at emotional depth often come across as forced rather than heartfelt. If the movie dialled back the sentimentality and made the characters a bit less grating, I would have loved it.

The Funhouse 1981
Very little gore and not as campy as I thought it would be, but I really loved the carnival setting and Goosebumps-like vibes. It’s also beautifully shot, with colourful, moody lighting that enhances its retro charm.
