  it's as completely overwhelming as it is immensely joyful to remind myself every year that this is it; the movie that quite simply changed everything for me. it feels like an herculean task to even attempt to describe its impact on my very existence and how, four years on, it is still tangible in my day-to-day life and i will continue to feel its effects for as long as i shall live.

  part of my weekly #MovieChallenge

  every frame genuinely made me want to cry because the colours i could not believe. i think ultimately that, and the very gut-wrenching ending is what i'll take from this film. i'm attempting "branching out" with musicals and i knew this was one but i was not aware this was sung-through. it's really not my thing, i cannot help it. Deneuve is a dream.
