    Quick thoughts:

–Ohhhhh Daphne and Osgood are in gay-love 🥰
–Tony Curtis’ babygirl eyelashes were begging for him to be put in drag
    –Tucked or untucked?
–It’s pretty sad reading about how much of a struggle bus Marilyn was on for this shoot. Billy Wilder was fed up and didn’t even invite her to the cast party when they finally finished filming 🤧
–The Mayo brothers being mentioned surprised me. My hometown is their hometown/the home of Mayo Clinic. I feel like they/it only ever get mentioned in things like Grey’s Anatomy

I love how short this was! 😍🐈

It honestly could have been better with another 20 minutes, though. You can never win with runtimes lol

Is the Ms. Marvel miniseries worth adding to the watchlist? Iman Vellani was really fun to watch. She nailed the tone of this better than her more experienced costars did. Like… is the Oscar winner in Room with us right now?

Also does anyone watch/like volleyball? I’ve never seen Brie Larson and Kelsey Robinson Cook in the same room before. Just saying.

Le Samouraï is not a silent film, but it is at its best when the storytelling is all visual. It’s in this space between dialogue when I felt most sucked into the tense and austere direction from Jean-Pierre Melville. Alain Delon gives a captivating performance as an inscrutable hitman who hardly ever bats an eye or breaks a sweat while trying to stay one step ahead of cops in pursuit.

A must-see neo-noir with stylish and minimalist French sensibility.

David Dastmalchian’s performance was by far the best part of this for me. Watching Jimmy Fallon is 100% more effective horror, though.

In my memory this will unfortunately get lost amongst all the other occult/possession horror movies ever made, especially since there were some really big ones made in the actual 1970s and not just made to look like the 1970s.

Up next: It’s technically still winter, but yesterday it was 70° in Minnesota, so I’m calling it an early spring viewing of Late Spring (1949).
