I’ve always had a soft spot for the first of a franchise so it’s no shock that I preferred the plot vibes in the first. The songs in this are much better though. They are transcendently iconic in some cases. Humu humu nuku nuku apua’a will remain lodged in my amygdala forevermore. I’m not sure what to say but it did slay.

Relaxed and sincere. It wasn’t a unique narrative but it was still a pleasure to watch. Everything was just really solid and heartwarming. I’m happy to say it gave me everything I expected and made me feel for everyone involved.
I feel at my fingertips and along to my heart that this piece of media loved women, and loved men. It engendered a love for oneself in whatever form that may take. It captured facets of the broken-hearted experience I have never seen in cinema. This format has never been for me, but it was exceptional and delicate in such ecstatically unexpected ways.
It’s camp. It’s wholesome. It’s hopeful. It makes me want to bake crème brûlée.
