  A fabulous film. Terrifically written and directed. Wonderful performances. Fantastic characters. Loved the look of it too, beautiful cinematography. I saw the film a couple hours ago and I am still thinking about it in great detail. Each setting, each story beat, each character moment, specific lines. That is the sign of a great film in my opinion. One that feels lived in and that you as the viewer can live in too. "The Holdovers" is a film like that. Worth revisiting again and again.

  My brothers and I remade this entire film back in 2012 with stuffed animals. We used chocolate syrup in the shower scene just like Hitchcock (and made a complete mess in the bathroom, I think there is still syrup in the caulk lol).
