Ayo i still love u, and i absolutely love indie sci-fi. but it all just ends up feeling very vague. there’s science-ish words and numbers in books to show us they’re scientists; there is a world portrayed where everyone is unfazed by a black hole inside someone’s body and a microscopic man that lives inside a box, but we never get to understand the stakes and rules of this world; there are moments of emotional connection with some characters but everything ends up feeling more like a potential for something else.
