despite a feel-good and picturesque plot line, the story falls incredibly flat of the original willy wonka story as well as my hopes for the movie.
timothee chalamet as an incredible cast for the role of willy wonka is completely underused as the story leans into a one-dimensional and incorrect characterization of wonka that leaves out the dark and twisted nature of dahl’s original story as well as the movie that this is intended to be the prequel to.
