  This is probably going to be long and soppy but whatever. I was slightly apprehensive watching the film as a lot had changed from the narrative of the book but it’s a gloriously lovely heart warming story. I think a lot of queer media focuses on the ‘struggle’ and rationally that’s okay - a huge majority of lgbt+ history is their ongoing fight so a film that doesn’t include or at least allude to that would be ridiculous.
