A Complete Unknown 2024
I liked the set design for Greenwich Village, the sound design on the Newport sequences, and shed a tear when he said goodbye to Woody.
But they really did Joan Baez and Pete Seeger dirty. They both had much more interesting lives than what was portrayed. Also, another piss poor treatment of the civil rights movement (on par with the Elvis movie, I would say, which is not saying much). Where are the communists?

a tentative 3.5 stars because i will need to watch it again to fully understand it. enigmatic, challenging, with a really interesting approach to narrative time. visually & sonically compelling with gorgeous hues of red and ochre. maria callas has the most incredible eyes!!

Megalopolis 2024
if caesar is francis ford coppola and megalopolis is the movie and the substance from which the movie was made is megalon. then yes, coppola successfully froze time, and like the formless matter that is the megalon, the movie was totally incomprehensible, amorphous, impossible to grasp.
